This site was originally about the real estate industry, but now it is about politics, economics, government, freedom, entrepreneurship, innovation, objectivty and other such stuff important to humans. I uphold libertarian principles and believe wholeheartedly in limited government -- this blog explains why.

    The art of small

Bonzai blog is, after all, about the art of small.

    http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/09/23/business/streets.php

Will small, nimble and independent banks save the day? Will the world really collapse if big NY banks lose a lot of money, go under, join together?

To tell you the truth, banking is not my forte. It's mysteries are beyond my interests. As a matter of fact, I use a small local bank because I like the personal touch.

However, some people who do know about banking seem to think the small and medium size banks are doing just fine.

My instincts tell me this is true. I know that going on instinct is not the most valid way to analyze the problem or search for solutions, but with all the confusion and contradictory information coming from NY and Washington DC, I'm thinking no one knows the truth or no one is telling the truth.

With everyone in bed together in an orgy of doom, gloom and alarmism, it seems to me the clamor for drastic measures is a tad too loud and emanates from the wrong heads. Frank, Obama, Dodd, Bush, Paulsen, Pelosi -- it's enough to make you step back and ask -- WTF?

Is this all about corporstatism losing big bucks and power to small, more independent banks? Surely these people wouldn't be creating a smoke screen to save their asses and the asses of their banker friends and Wall Street cronies.

What if there is no bill and we all survive? Could this happen? What if the world doesn't collapse?

It seems to me after the House received all the information that is the world is going to collapse, it would be terribly irresponsible and politically stupid to vote against saving the world. I don't know, my instincts are telling me the world is not going to collapse without $700 billion dollars of taxpayer money.

Who knows if the House is bluffing and will later sign a bill after getting a few changes, but if they hold thier guns and the world rocks along, shouldn't we look to the alarmists with a sufficient supply of tar and feathers?
